About Us
Sakeliga is an independent non-profit company with a mission to restore and strengthen economic order by resisting harmful state actions.
Redefining the State’s Role in the Economy
Sakeliga and its partners understand that business communities are responsible for resisting the overreach of state power and laying the foundations for a thriving economy.
Our litigation uses the courts - where they function well - to bring the state into necessary, legitimate, good-faith negotiations on rolling back the barriers to a thriving economic order.
Our History
Sakeliga was founded in 2011 when a group of business leaders decided an organisation was needed to resist harmful state economic intervention.
Today, Sakeliga is recognised as a premier litigant on commercial matters in the public interest.
We have thousands of committed funding partners, a growing business chamber network across the country and have produced substantial economic benefits for businesses and the communities they serve.
Our name ‘Sakeliga’ is inspired by the famous trading alliance ‘The Hanseatic League’, or in German ‘Hansaliga’, that established a centuries-long prosperous economic order across northern Europe.
Our network of funders and partners is a league - an alliance - of businesses standing together to restore and strengthen economic order for a flourishing society.
